Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her spiky, blond locks as well as her pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can learn. Chef Burrell was also employed in the top New York restaurants, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. When she was growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at very young. After obtaining an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she started to pursue her passion for the industry of restaurants by enrolling into The Culinary Institute of America. According to her "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." I could not learn and do enough. Chef Burrell who graduated from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children's lives who have issues and also is an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her love for cooking and profession. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able be able to share the passion I have for life with people.
