Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts (born 28 September 1968) is an British actress. She made her debut in film in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) that was followed by three tv series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts was a flop as an actor when she first arrived in the United States. She acted in small-scale movies and eventually became an actress. Her rise to fame on the international stage was due to this part. Watts played the part of the journalist who is depressed in The Ring, a horror film that was made into a remake. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as a grief-stricken mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). She continued to climb the ranks of fame with her performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as along with Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the decade between 2010 and 2011, Watts appeared in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts kept her acting career going by making film roles that were blockbusters, like in Divergent (2015-2016).
