Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) she was a national director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright as a
pharmacist executive. She was born in San Diego, California. She began her
professional career as a model in the year 1980 when she was 14 years old, and
was a model in Paris and Japan. After graduation from high school, she became
an actress. She was cast in the soap show Santa Barbara (1984), for which she
was nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy. The first season of the show she
became a fan of fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she got married in
1986. In addition, she appeared in The Princess Bride (1987) playing the title
character. She was given the role of Santa Barbara but left to be a part of
Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. She was in State of Grace (1990) in the year
she met Sean Penn. They had two daughters: Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack.
Robin returned to Hollywood after a hiatus with one of her most famous roles:
Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning and brilliant. Then,
she appeared in Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams, and she gave a funny
performance. In 1994, Wright was in the blockbuster sensation Forrest Gump
(1994), alongside Tom Hanks. In recognition of her performance as Jenny, she
got an award nomination for the Golden Globe Award. She was also given a tiny
part in The Crossing Guard (1995) which starred Jack Nicholson. After a string
of rejections, she was offered the lead role in MGM/UA’s Moll Flanders (1996).
The film was directed by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard
Channing, and Morgan Freeman. Later, she appeared in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997)
co-starring William Hurt.
