Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter
of Kjellfrid Andreassen, a former midwife and nurse in Norway. She was born
April 25 1969, in Katy. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is an engineer from
Switzerland. The couple got married in 1963. Renee has a brother called Drew
Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on February 15 in 1967. Renee got
interested in acting at the age of 14 when she was working in the drama club.
She took an acting course at University of Texas (Austin) and began to think about
acting as a profession. She was determined to act after she graduated, but
Hollywood can be hard to enter. Renee decided not to quit Texas and auditioned
at Houston for roles. Matthew McConaughey was another Hollywood newcomer who
she met filming Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Next Generation (1994). Renee
was aware that he was working on a project and auditioned. She was offered the
role in Love and the 45 (1994). The role was a huge success and earned her
enough praise that she decided to move to Los Angeles. Her big break came with
another part in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting his
next film Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking into the
actresses Bridget Fonda (Camden Diaz), Winona Ryder (Winona Ryder) and Marisa
Tomei. Then he came across Zellweger's performance at The Whole Wide World
(1996). The audition was conducted by Zellweger to ensure that the actress was
in fact his Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued her great success by releasing small
independent films. She was praised again from critics, and was assured that she
was able to reenter large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep was her co-star
in One True Thing (1998). She also starred alongside Jim Carrey in Me, Myself
& Irene (2000) and began to be romantically involved with Carrey in the
following year. In the role of the title character in Bridget Jones's Diary
(2001).
