Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She is also a model, director, activist and actress. Wright is most well-known for her part in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The actress remained in the role for ten years before moving on to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). Wright appeared in several independent films like Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films received mixed praise. She made her stage debut as the main character in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate diploma in filmmaking. In 2012, Wright launched BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first project in the direction of a director was the coming-of age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) which starred David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical applause. She also directed Know Thyself (2016), starring Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016), both of which focused on landscape and emotions as themes. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls, which was premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, comprised three episodes. The film was released in Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs in a film that is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has gained recognition as an environmental activist; she also acts as an ambassador for charities Greenpeace as well as Lumos.
