Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara is a famous American artist and performer, both of Irish origin. Her fiery, passionate performances she appeared in number of American films were appreciated by the green-eyed beauty , with flashing hair and fiery eyes. Her stunning appearance and natural beauty were well-received. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her roles on screen reflect her strong, brave spirit which fought for recognition and survival in a male-dominated industry. She was known as the "tough Irish girl" and did not sacrifice her fame or respect to gain the roles she deserved through merit. Throughout her career in the field of film she stood up against discrimination and injustice of women actors. Because of this, she earned many followers. Her autobiography, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. It gave an honest and honest story of her life and the difficulties she encountered as she climbed the ladder to success. She was an adventurous person who wasn't afraid of performing her own stunts. Over the years, she starred in over 60 films, and gained lots of attention throughout the world. After leaving Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. He was a brigadier and chief pilot, and was an early pioneer in transatlantic aviation. In the early years of the couple's marriage, O'Hara made the decision to finally retire. Blair however, was killed in a tragic plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. The same year, she was diagnosed with having uterine cancer . She had to undergo urgent surgery. She eventually recovered. Over the next few years, her health began to decline and she experienced six heart attacks, memory loss in the short term as well as diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara was 95 years old. She peacefully passed away in Boise on October 24, 2015.
